CHALLENGE

Alexa Meade applies paint directly to models and the surrounding scene, creating the illusion that real life people and places are inside the world of a 2D painting. Our challenge was to increase fan engagement and commission leads through an on-going creative marketing strategy.  

OUTCOME

A strategic rebrand—logo, monthly content calendars, collateral, signage, website, video and collateral, social media marketing- We doubled her numbers in 6 months - from 200k to 500k on Facebook & 70k to 140k on Instagram. We executed across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, and Reddit.

Strategy

The core strategy was to leverage existing relationships with community leaders (e.g. Now This, Refinery29, Form Arcosanti, Fubiz, My Modern Met, Art Basel) and collaborate / cross promote on projects and campaigns. Each collaboration was an opportunity to develop unique content that spoke directly to Alexa’s audience.

 
 

“Color of Reality” brings together Alexa Meade’s painting style with the movement artistry of Jon Boogz and Lil Buck to tell a story about gun violence and racial tensions in American society.

Design

We wanted all design all touch points to speak to Alexa’s unique painterly style and high end celebrity status. We chose to use a wordmark as her logo using simple and elegant font style.

Video Production

We shadowed Alexa to San Francisco to shoot the commissioned portraits or Dan Levine and Cristina Cordova. After the shoot, Dan proposed marriage to his girlfriend while they were both living street art. We captured the whole thing. This campaign reached 11.6 million people.
